What actually matters

Hex holes print slightly undersized because of elephant's foot on the first layers. Add 0.15 mm clearance rather than forcing bits in.
Leave the bit tips proud of the block so you can read the size without pulling each one out.
A magnet pressed into the base of each socket stops bits falling out if the holder tips — size the pocket for 5 × 2 mm discs.

Will impact-rated bits fit?

Yes. Impact bits use the same 1/4 inch hex shank; only the steel differs.

How do I add more slots?

Change the slot count before generating. The block widens automatically — just check it still fits your build plate.
